DRACULA
A new adaptation written and directed by Brian Lore Evans inspired by Bram Stoker’s novel and reworked from the stage play by Hamilton Deane and John L. Balderston, October 3 – October 27, Indoor Theatre.
Drawn extensively from Transylvanian folklore and history, Bram Stoker’s Dracula is one of the most famous pieces of English literature. CCTC/HJT brings this gothic horror novel to life with designs inspired by Edward Gorey’s artwork, images used with permission from the Edward Gorey Charitable Trust, and an incredible cast of some of the Cape’s finest actors.
Perhaps you’ve heard of vampires, of things that lurk in shadow, but do you truly know them? Can one know that which lies beyond? Brian Lore Evans’s adaptation invites the audience to join professor and scientist Abraham Van Helsing as he delves into the story of Count Dracula, king of vampires, in search of an answer.
