In Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks a widowed Southern Baptist minister’s wife and a grown-up ex-Broadway chorus boy find themselves as student and teacher over the course of six weeks as he teaches her ballroom dance in her Florida penthouse. Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks is a masterclass in comedy and wit as these two unlikely partners find that their differences might just be what make them the most similar.

Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks lead Kim Zimmer is best known as the four-time Lead Actress Emmy award-winning portrayal of Reva Shayne on GUIDING LIGHT. Six Dance Lessons marks her return to Theatre Workshop after starring in our 2017 production of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf. Zimmer will share the stage with Robbie Simpson, best known for playing Chad on ABC’s GENERAL HOSPITAL.

Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks is presented as theatre in the round. Bennett Hall will for this special production to give our audiences a unique theatre experience. Seating is limited.

Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks received its world premiere in 2001 at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles. It received its East Coast premiere in 2003 on Broadway at the Belasco Theatre. The feature-film adaptation of the play premiered in 2014.
