As summer turns to fall on Cape Cod, the locals head out in droves to celebrate the cooler weather. As a result, there are a ton of special September Events on Cape Cod. From craft beer fests to 5ks, you’re sure to find something to enjoy in September on the Cape.

Falmouth Harbor Craft Festival – September 2nd – 3rd
Marine Park, Falmouth Harbor
More than 70 vendors take part in the Rotary’s craft fair, showcasing products including jewelry, art, clothing, baked goods and books. A $3 donation is collected at the gate. Both days open 9am -4pm. A shuttle will run every 30 minutes from Christmas Tree Plaza to Marine Park from 10-4:30pm
Martha’s Vineyard Film Festival – September 5th – 10th
Already in its 18th year, the Martha’s Vineyard International Film Festival is a great way to view a celebrate unique films from around the globe. The festival opens with a spotlight screening of four feature films and ends with the film Official Competition and a closing night party at Fish MV.
You can buy an all-access pass to the festival for $250($220 for members) or simply purchase tickets to view the films that you are interested in seeing.
Eastham Windmill Weekend – September 8th – 10th
Celebrate the history of Eastham in a weekend-long festival, on the Windmill Green and other town locations, filled with food and local crafts. The celebration also includes a parade, sand art contest, talent show, vehicle show, and road race! Click here for a full schedule.
Seaside Le Mans – September 9th
Head over to the Mashpee Commons from 12 to 4 pm on Saturday, September 10th, to the fast-paced Seaside Lemans. The 22nd annual formula one style race will feature high-speed fun with tight turns and an exhilarating race. There will also be music, food, and a family fun zone.
The event is free to attend, and last year raised over $500,000 in proceeds that go to local charitable organizations.
A Different Drummer Craft Event – September 9th -10th
Come browse works of locally made art at Brooks Park in Harwich. Open Friday and Saturday and Sunday 10am – 4pm rain or shine. Over 40 booths of local artists and crafters.
Edgartown Light Children’s Memorial Service – September 16th
The Edgartown Children’s Memorial has served as a place to remember the children that have passed too soon since 2001. Families can engrave their children’s names on the foundation of the Edgartown Lighthouse in remembrance of them.
Each year the MV Museum organizes a memorial service in honor of the children who are listed on the memorial.
Harwich Cranberry Arts & Music Festival – September 16th & 17th
The Harwich Cranberry Arts & Music Festival is a great opportunity to grab a drink and explore the work of over 175 vendors. The festival features handmade craft items, live music, and a firework display. Entry to the park is Free.
The CranJam Music Festival is behind the Harwich Community Center. There’s a wooden dance floor under the tent but bring a chair or blanket so you can be comfortable. The firework display begins at dark when the music ends.
Celebrate our Waters: Orleans Pond Coalition – September 15th -17th
In a celebration of nature conservation, the Orleans Pond Coalition is hosting a weekend-long celebration at various locations throughout Cape Cod. Some activities that are part of the celebration include: a beach bonfire, yoga on the beach, scavenger hunt, hikes and various tours of cranberry bogs, pollinator gardens and more.
Cape Cod Canal Day – September 16th
Take a trip over to Buzzards Bay Park to celebrate Cape Cod Canal Day on September 6th from 11 am to 6 pm. This free event offers live entertainment, food trucks, craft vendors and a beer & wine garden. You can sign up for the 5k road race or the cornhole tournament.
Cape Cod Brew Fest – September 23rd
Head over to the Cape Cod Fairgrounds for the 11th annual Cape Cod Brew Festival. The festival features over 50 breweries and over 150 styles of beer with an emphasis on local microbreweries. There is one session from 2-5:30pm. Your event ticket includes unlimited beer sampling, snacks, and a branded pint glass.
