In the heart of Cape Cod, a revolutionary change is taking place at the Osterville Village Library (OVL) that’s set to redefine the way we think about library services. With the introduction of the 24/7 Autolend library kiosk, OVL proudly becomes the first library on Cape Cod to adopt this groundbreaking technology. This isn’t just a step forward in library automation; it’s a leap into the future of accessibility and convenience in literature and multimedia borrowing.
Breaking Down Barriers of Traditional Library Hours
The Auto Lending Library is a state-of-the-art machine that allows you to borrow books and DVDs from the library 24/7. It is located outside the front of the library building, so you can access it anytime, even when the library is closed. You can choose from a variety of genres, including children’s books, young adult books, novels, and the latest DVDs.
The Autolend kiosk is not just a machine; it’s a portal to a world of knowledge, stories, and information available round the clock. The beauty of this system lies in its ability to cater to the community’s needs at any hour, breaking down the barriers of traditional library hours. Whether you’re an early bird catching up on the latest news over coffee or a night owl seeking solace in a novel, the Autolend kiosk stands ready to serve.
Autolend Library Kiosk Available to All
The 24/7 Autolend library is an exceptional resource that stands out for its unparalleled accessibility and convenience. Anyone with a CLAMS card can access the Autolend kiosk for library media. All you need is your CLAMS card and you can check out up to three items at a time.
Imagine having the ability to borrow books, multimedia, and other materials anytime you need, without being constrained by traditional library hours. This innovative service is perfect for busy individuals, night owls, or anyone with an unpredictable schedule. With a vast collection at your fingertips, the Autolend library ensures that your quest for knowledge, entertainment, or research materials doesn’t have to pause when the sun goes down. It’s like having a personal librarian available round-the-clock, ready to cater to your intellectual needs and curiosities. Give it a try and experience the freedom of accessing a world of information whenever it suits you best.
The Autolend library kiosk at OVL is not just about accessibility; it’s about variety. Housing an extensive range of materials from books and novels to children’s and young adult literature, and even DVDs, the kiosk ensures that there’s something for everyone. Families can enjoy the convenience of picking up a children’s book or a family movie at any time, making spontaneous movie nights or bedtime stories easier than ever. For avid readers and lifelong learners, the selection of novels and educational materials means your next great read is just a swipe away.
How Does It Work?
Using the Autolend library kiosk is as simple as it is convenient. With an intuitive interface and user-friendly design, borrowers can easily search for, read about, and check out materials using their library card. The process is streamlined and secure, ensuring that your library experience is both enjoyable and efficient. Returns are just as straightforward, with a dedicated slot for dropping off items at your convenience, or you can still use the traditional return box.

Love the idea but could you please explain the process? After the Clams card is entered, how do you choose a book etc. How does the book get from the library to the kiosk? Or is it limited to books/ materials already loaded into the machine? I would love more info for the possibility to get one for my library. Thank you!
The books are already in the kiosk and you can choose from the menu. You can contact the Osterville Village Library for more info.
