Painters, Artists and Sculptors in the Cape Cod Region
From Bourne to Provincetown including the islands of Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard and the historic town of Plymouth, Massachusetts painters, artists and sculptors have flocked to this region because of the maritime history and the inspiration of the ocean. Lighthouses, fishing communities, beaches, salt marshes, and the architecture have also inspired Cape Cod artists who take up residence in this sandy oasis off the shores of Massachusetts.
The region has produced schools of Cape Cod artists who arrived and settled on these charming seascapes of sand spits and created a “Salty Artistic Hub” that continues to rejuvenate itself today.
As we explore and continue recognize some of the artists and sculptors that have settled here to practice their craft, let’s continue to also remember the new local artists, painters, sculptors, musicians, poets, writers, and crafts people.
