In the middle of the village green in the center of Eastham is a charming rustic windmill that looks as if it were placed for decoration. In fact, the windmill was built in Plymouth around 1680, moved to Truro in the 1700s, then finally to its present location in 1808, where the owner painstakingly restored and dutifully maintained this working gristmill. Now owned by the Town of Eastham, the mill is still working and open to visitors each summer.
